LOST POST #1

Role of the Teacher in today's classroom:

I can't help but feel like the teacher of today is nothing more than glorified, and underpaid babysitter. We are expected to teach them about the world, and make sure they have completed all curricular goals. We are responsible for knowing about their home lives and reporting issues. We have to teach them to be kind to each other and respectful of themselves. We teach them about the most intimate parts of their bodies, and make sure they've had a nutritious breakfast. And now we're expected to teach them about technology and how to use it ethically. This seems like a common sense, but given the lack of that going around today's society, I suppose it's no surprise.I am concerned however, that if our roles extend so far this early into my career... what is to come in the next 10 years?
